How to choose your smart home
WiFi or Zigbee?
You connect WiFi devices straight to your own WiFi network through the app. Zigbee devices need a Zigbee gateway as a central hub, such as the Tuya Zigbee gateway or a T1E or T6E smart home panel. If in doubt, pick one system per room to keep things simple.
Built-in or plug and play?
Smart plugs and bulbs work straight away. Switches, dimmers, wall sockets, in-wall modules, the circuit breaker and the energy monitor are wired in permanently. Check which connection each product needs and leave the wiring to a qualified electrician.
Where to start?
Start with what you use most: lighting, a smart plug or a sensor. Many products work with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, so you can combine them in one app later. Check which app and connection each product uses.
